Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Often time’s life can be met with difficulty. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling lost, angry, scared, and uncertain about our place in life. But you don’t have to do it alone. Counseling can provide a sense of relief, ways of dealing with the unpredictability of life, and a newfound purpose. Though changing ourselves for the better can be difficult; it is worth the time and effort. I believe in the power of collaboration and a strong therapeutic alliance so you don’t feel like you’re going at it alone. I have worked extensively in community mental health. I have experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse, and posttraumatic disorder. I have an eclectic approach to counseling and do not believe in conforming to one modality. As everyone is unique and deserves the therapy that works best for them. Though my approach is diverse I primarily utilize psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, person-centered, and trauma-informed care. Yet, none of these approaches can be truly effective without a strong therapeutic alliance and a sense of trust. I provide a warm, friendly, non-judgmental environment so that you may feel safe in discussing your most personal issues. I can also teach practical coping skills derived from various therapeutic styles. My goal is to help you be the best that you can be. Working together I believe we can get there. Remember, life is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Take your time and together we can meet your life goals!
